For Years to Come
Reducing Our Environmental Impact
At Matt & Nat, we use organic and ethically sourced ingredients to minimize our carbon footprint and support sustainable farming. We also minimize waste by repurposing byproducts and donating excess materials to local charities.
A Sustainable Growth Plan
At Matt & Nat Bakery, sustainability isn’t just a goal; it’s a guiding principle that influences all our key decisions. From sourcing ingredients to managing waste, we’re committed to minimizing our environmental impact. This commitment is evident in our preference for sourced ingredients and packaging, which reduces our carbon footprint through streamlined supply chains and fewer deliveries. Moreover, 90% of our transportation fleet runs on compressed natural gas (CNG), further lowering our emissions.
We operate a robust recycling program to responsibly handle various materials, including organic waste, plastic, corrugated materials, and pallets. Beyond our operational practices, we strive to give back to our community by donating bakery day-olds and seconds to local food banks, ensuring that surplus food finds a purpose. Inside our facility, energy-efficient LED lights with motion detectors help us conserve electricity while maintaining optimal lighting conditions.
Additionally, we treat our wastewater to achieve a pH-neutral balance before it’s discharged, minimizing our impact on the local water system. Furthermore, we prioritize educating and training our staff on sustainability initiatives, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to our mission. Together, we’re not just baking goods; we’re baking a brighter, more sustainable future for generations to come.
